Monster x Radio. On the shoulders of Giants

On July 18th 2018 host and fellow researcher Julie Rench aired the first episode of a new Monster x Blog talk program entitled ‘On the shoulders of Giants. I was her first guest and the idea of the program was to rem anise about the old guard of Sasquatch research many of whom have now passed away. I was very fortunate to have known and done work with many of these famous names from the past. Julie of course wanted to get a lot of my memories recorded before the day I pass away. (Hopefully many years from now) This first episode concentrated on the late Rene Dahinden. Episode 2 which aired August 15th 2018 will be posted in the near future. I hope you all enjoy episode 1 below.

John Bindernagel

It is with great sadness that another friend and colleague has passed on.

John Bindernagel, PHD lost his battle with cancer January 17th 2018.  He was a clear and logical mind in the field of Sasquatch research at a time when insane thinking is becoming the norm.  This, most of all, is the reason he will be missed by myself and others.

John was educated at the University of Guelph, Ontario Canada, as well as the University of Wisconsin, USA.  John told me he became interested in the Sasquatch Question in 1965, and moved to BC in 1975 when he began to research the mystery personally.  I first met him in 1993, if my memory  is correct.  He would publish two fine books  on the subject and was often contacted by myself and others when something happened on Vancouver Island as he and his family resided in Courtenay, British Columbia.  John was always available to add his expertise as a Wildlife Biologist to on going cases under investigation.

I took this photo of John in Yakima Washington in 2009.

John Bindernagel will be greatly missed.  I will never forget him.

New E-book

The Making of Hominology

It is very gratifying that the originator of a proposed scientific discipline has provided us with his knowledge and detailed justification for this discipline — The Science of Hominology.
Dmitri Bayanov (born 1932) worked directly with Professor Boris Porshnev and other early
Russian scientists investigating the possible existence of Relic Hominids.  Bayanov’s long journey began in the early 1960s and has continued until this day.  His books cover the subject from the dawn of written communications in Europe and Asia, and then in North
America.
Dmitri Bayanov coined the term “Hominology” and from the outset has sought to convince the general scientific community that there is enough evidence to move this subject from the realm of myth and “cryptozoology” to “true science.”  His “arguments” reflect his significant understanding of the subject and depth of his studies.
What he presents is truly convincing.
My personal opinion on this new publication is this: I have read it. I enjoyed it. I found it thought provoking.  I do recommend it.

A Special Lady

A very dear lady to me lost her battle with cancer on May 30th, 2017.

I first met Vera after herself and another dear friend of mine, Christina, came to my home to tell me of a strange creature Vera had encountered just outside her home on the afternoon of September 21st,  2011.  She had come outside to see why her next door neighbors’ dogs were barking so much when she caught sight of something strange just behind the tree line which separates her home with the railway tracks.  The details of this encounter I have already published (Steenburg File# 10173).

After the two had stared at each other for about 30 seconds, which seemed much longer to Vera, the subject simply walked away from her down the rail line towards, what was locally known as, Crazy Creek.  She never saw it again.  She then contacted Christina and told her about what she saw, and it was Christina whom told her to talk to me; which we did the following evening.

At first Vera didn’t want any word of her account getting out and, in fact, when I went to investigate at the sight, she told the locals that I was there to look into a Mountain Lion she had seen.   At the time she was a foster mom and was afraid that if word got out that she had seen a possible Sasquatch that might be used against her.

But over the years as we got to know each other she relaxed a bit over the whole affair and took part when I asked in radio and television documentaries on the the subject and had even come along with me on few day expositions.  One such Radio show was titled ”Footsteps’ and aired in 2015.   Some of the TV programs were: ‘BC is Awesome’ which aired in 2016; ‘Finding Bigfoot’ when they filmed up on the Chehalis Reserve in 2015; and ‘Red Earth Uncovered’ which was filmed in the fall of 2016 and is due to air in 2018.  It is a program of First Nation perspective, and Vera being of First Nation birth herself, I felt was a natural choice for their Sasquatch episode.

I will miss her.
